This brought tears to my eyes, because sometimes when I get so incredibly angry at the injustices in this world, that’s how I react.

“D.J. Feldman was 11 weeks pregnant last year when she learned that her child had anencephaly, a fetal defect that left the baby with almost no brain. It is always fatal.

Feldman, a 41-year-old federal lawyer, and her husband had been trying for two years to have a baby. Sadly, her doctor “made it very clear I wasn’t to continue this pregnancy,” she said.

An abortion was medically necessary. She had little choice.

But after the jolt of the diagnosis and the emotional pain of the procedure, Feldman was in for another shock — sticker shock. She thought her health insurance policy through the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP) would cover the $9,000 cost of the abortion. It didn’t.

For Feldman, unlike many women who have abortion insurance coverage through private-sector employers, abortion coverage provided through her employer — the U.S. government — is illegal.”

I realize there are probably other things I could say that would better argue my point, but I right now, the only thing that comes to mind is “This. Is. BULLSHIT.”

I despise the FEHBP for putting this woman in that position. At least she had the $5,000 (bargained price) to pay for the procedure, but she shouldn’t have to. Medical research backed up her doctor’s argument that carrying the child to term would’ve endangered her health. And her insurance, and the federal government, couldn’t care less.

This is not an instance of taxpayer money going toward the abortion of a healthy fetus just because someone was careless. This woman desperately wanted a baby. She didn’t want an abortion. She needed it to safeguard herself from the serious risks of carrying to term a baby with a defect that would be fatal shortly after birth.

The fact that this is the kind of society I live in makes me so furious I can’t even think straight. I feel like I’m going to explode because all the anger and frustration and rage I feel cannot possibly fit inside my body.

Heath was beautiful, in a rugged, manly way. He was our Australian bad boy long before he played Ned Kelly. All brooding and dark, you wanted to know what was going on in that head of his, behind those intense dark eyes. And how hot was dirty blonde hair, and the crooked, sly smile? Oh, and The Scruff! Heellloooo chin rash, sore lips and chaffed inner thighs.

He was fucking brilliant. Many thought he was just a pretty face, but not us. We saw The Four Feathers. We remember A Knight’s Tale. We weren’t surprised by his performance in Brokeback Mountain opposite Jake Gyllenhaal (titillated yes, surprised, no). We saw how great he was all along and when everyone else got on board the Heath Ledger train? We’d already taken our seats and were wondering what kept them.

He was a devoted daddy. Even if you don’t like kids, not only could this adorable little thing make you change your mind, but you know there’s no better combination of sexy and sweet than a man who loves his baby. And he did.

Wait, wait, lets go back to his talent. Did you see The Dark Knight? No? Well, here’s the condensed version. Now - you see it, right? The brilliance? He deserved that fucking Oscar, and you shut your fucking mouth if you disagree. You’d be his Harley Quinn in a heartbeat, you know it.

Remember this? God knows Julia Stiles said everything you felt by the end of that movie. She spoke for us all. *sigh*
