Evan Esar (via enquotations)
This quote is especially meaningful to me this week. One of the most recent graduates from my high school, one of my little sister’s friends, was killed in a car crash on the way home from senior week at the beach when the car he was in was hit by a drunk driver. He was 17 years old, with his entire life ahead of him. He’s far from the first young person I know to be killed in a car accident and, unfortunately, I’m sure he won’t be the last.
So this is just my reminder to all of you, and to myself, to be careful every time we get behind the wheel. I’m sure too many us have driven when we shouldn’t, whether we were under the influence of alcohol, drugs, even just anger, or whether we were simply reckless or distracted. Even if you don’t value your own life, think about how you’d feel if something like this happened to one of your loved ones and please please please take care.
